The Dauphin Island Sea Lab Foundation was established to assist in developing new resources to insure the future long-term growth of the Dauphin Island Sea Lab. Created by a group of community leaders, the trustees of the Foundation recognize two overriding facts:
Sea Lab must continue its role as a national leader in coastal marine research, science education, and coastal policy development.
The availability of State funds to aid the Lab in achieving its full potential is limited
The Dauphin Island Sea Lab Foundation is a 501(c) (3) organization created to secure the future growth of the Dauphin Island Sea Lab. We accept contributions and gifts, promote fundraising activities and provide advisory and financial assistance for the policies, programs and project of the Dauphin Island Sea Lab.
The Foundation has established an endowment fund, an investment vehicle with principal that is never touched. The interest and dividend earnings generated each year will provide a yearly infusion of income to the Sea Lab for faculty, program and facility expansion. To build this endowment, we need your help.
There are many ways to give to the Foundation. Outright gifts of money, securities, real estate, insurance policies, equipment and personal property, bequests and memorial gifts are all options. In addition, gifts may be designated for a particular purpose.
“In our every deliberation we must consider the impact of the next seven generations.”
